The chapter had a successful work party on May 7th 2011 at Barr Creek. We planted 30 trees of various types along the north side of the ponds to help shade and protect that area. There was a good showing of members to help plant the trees and clean up from this years floods. The restoration site is really starting to flourish with previous years plantings, many of the trees are over 20 ft tall now. This year we planted Doug-Fir, Red Cedar, Oregon Ash and Spirea that the chapter bought from Bank-Savers nursery. We had to use a small boat to access that side of the ponds, and that was fun :). This project was financed through donations to our Chapter at our Conservation Banquette in 2010.
A special thanks to our members and friends for the help in this project and Richard Barr for allowing this project on his property
